Inky purple, more clarity at margins. Violet, anise, butterscotch, red fruit and maybe a pork note in nose. (Paired with veggie lasagna so it's the wine with the meaty smell). Bright strawberry, cherry and later blackberry and prune flavors in mouth, light skin astringency on top of tongue, slight mint and lactic flavors in aftertaste. The opposite of big and rich for a Zin, delicately flavored, good acidity, but still a healthy hit of ethanol, well masked. A keeper for an everyday red

Really impressed with this great-value Zin. If you prefer the older style Zins - i.e. NOT jammy - then this is a great option for you. Good balance of fruit, spice, acid and terroir.
