2016 vintage. This wine is made from the local Hagthanak grape (100%), which means "victory" in Armenian. It's one of those rare "teinturier" grapes, with coloured flesh. Inky black colour with purple rim (fun fact: the back label states "ripe pomegranate in color"). Blackberry jam and a slightly roasted coffee aroma. Powerful taste with concentrated black fruit, very tannic, but without harshness, and balanced by nice acidity. Not the most subtle but a very good "take no prisoners" wine. Should pair well with roasted red meat. Abv. 13%.

Smoke show! Like a camp fire. The taste is aggressive when you pop this open, but mellows out a bit after 30 min. Tasty with what you would expect - fatty meats, stinky cheese, etc.
