Next up was the '12 Turley Zinfandel 'Dusi Vineyard'. This one ratcheted up to the fruit bomb level. Big blackberry, licorice and spice aromas. Ripe, plush and juicy. Lengthy finish.

Palate has some game, burnt Carmel, toasted nuts. Same on the palate with a persistence of olive. Unique among turleys offerings, fun to tinker with but not the all-star zin of their standard class.

Dark Raspberry and Blackberry Fruit with a healthy dose of Sandalwood on the nose initially. Very intense in fruit aromatics and dense on the palate, this wine is high octane and alcohol but still has some good character. Full bodied but not a whole lot of tannin to it. This is one to decant and let sit for a while and let the alcohol burn off a bit to see the true character.

Give this good hour or two decant and you will ever rewarded with aromas and flavors of dark fruit and a lively spiciness without any of the heat you would expect from 16.3% alc. Yummy!
