Label is all bling - I think this is the one that's been getting a lot of press in Australia lately by being Aldi's giant killer. It's got a lot going for it; stylistically this doesn't look Victorian to me. I'd have said a lover of South Australian Shiraz would love it and be astonished at the bang for buck. Oak works well and there's peppery, clovey spice and chocolate and lots of rich, ripe fruit. A touch of heat from its 14.5% alcohol emerges on the finish, but overall it's nicely put together and presses all the right buttons.

Nice aroma with depth but not as smooth on palette. Good wine for the price

A classic Aussie shiraz from Victoria. Not medium bodied as stated. But for £8.99 in Aldi what a wine.

The 2013 is the award winner and I have the 2014. Straight away there is heat at the back of your tongue - must be the high alcohol content mentioned below. It's light enough for my tastes but enough depth and bite to remind me of more expensive vintages. Maybe it would be a good one to keep in the shelf? I'm no expert!

Don't bag the ALDI wines until you've tried! This was just superb for the price!

Bought it based on Sydney International Wine Show 2014 awards and subsequent newspaper articles on cheap Aldi wines.
At $13, pretty good value. Bit light but enjoyed it.

A bit more 'throat acid' than I prefer, but a decent cheap drop.
