Truett-Hurst
Burning Man Old Vine Petite Sirah
Dark reddish purple with near black core. Inviting nose and medium full palate of ashy blueberry, red blackberry, and high-cocoa dark chocolate. Dusty, medium plus tannins present (but not assertive) from entry. Medium acidity wrapped up in it all, and a lengthy finish wraps it all up. Classic California PS with enough stuffing for the connoisseur, but still enough approachability for the novice. Drink now through 2030.

Dec 1st, 2022This is a delicious Petite Sirah from Dry Creek Valley in California.
Big, bold and rich. Fruit forward and extracted.
Showing black and red fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, spices and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
Very enjoyable by itself or with food. A great sipping wine.
Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and complexity.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly, and show the tannins and complexity. Even smoother after 5 hours. Spicy and entertaining.
A delicious wine to sip on by itself.
I had this vintage last year and it is still very enjoyable.
15.3% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$40.

Not as dark and brooding as many PS I run into, still it's a very enjoyable wine to drink, nice acid to fruit ratio, brimming with black berries, cherries and black licorice. This wine is made in a drink now and drink often style that will make those who love fruit forward wines swoon with delight! Described as full-tilt-boogie wine making! 😙
