Trinchero Napa Valley
Central Park West Vineyard Petit Verdot
I love Petit Verdot! Nice dark purple color. Very dynamic nose. It's musty, with lots of barnyard odors and hints of Macintosh apples and tomatoes. A little high in OH at 14.7%, but nice fruit, which is on the sweeter side. Surprisingly short finish. Definitely at the tail end of the drinking window. I'd buy more and will!

Feb 17th, 2018Okay, how many 100% Petit Verdot's can you remember???? French style nose opens massive plum and cherry flavors. After all that one word defines this wine "soft"!!! It's like laying your head on a soft pillow after a long day, if that makes any sense at all. Trinchero should be really proud of this wine and for taking a risk!

Aug 19th, 2017Dark and inky out of the bottle. A little funk on the nose, so it might need more air, but it reminds me of the smell of all the great Napa caves we have visited! I don't drink, own, or ever see that many petit verdots but this one isn't bad. Nice cherry fruit, with a nice subtleness on the palate, and just a hint of spice on the finish. Quite lovely and a nice change from white wine Sunday's....moving it up 2pts as the additional air did wonders and it paired beautifully with lemon, pepper pork tenderloin, white rice, and collard greens with garlic!
