Trentham Estate
Noble Taminga
🍇 Have you heard of Taminga? It’s is a white grape variety developed by CSIRO at Merbein. It’s suited to grow in the warm Aussie climate and is a cross between the Spanish Planta Pedralba and Sultana, and the variety Traminer. Which makes sense as to why it produces botrytised sweet wine (aka dessert wine).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have been saving this sample I received of the Trentham (thank you 😘) 2014 Reserve Noble Taminga from the Murray Darling to enjoy with my parents on their recently visit. We had it with dessert one evening, what a treat! $18 a bottle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can’t tell from the empty bottle in the photo (it was gone far too quickly to get a snap!) but it’s a lovely golden nectar colour in the glass. The nose is slightly floral with lemon citrus and apricots. While in the mouth it’s juicy with honeyed pear, apricots and a nice balanced lemon acidity. Completely moreish 👄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
