My 3rd time trying this. Best experience yet. Inky garnet. The oak is heavy on the nose: musty dank leathery tar, with some surly cinnamon and cloves, and a rich cherry base. Brighter on the palate than expected, and vigorous tannins, but all that cuts perfectly with food (this chipotle bowl is nailing it right now). Palate and finish follow the nose in the best way. Aromatic richness and bold brightness.

Rich leggy garnet. Dense dank nose: musty tool shop, meaty plum, peppery spice. Surprisingly bright acid for how heavy the nose is, and harsher tannins than I expected. The best part is the finish: lingering oak sweetness after a nice bloom of leathery raspberry. I found the subtleties were best enjoyed via small intermittent sips. Solid value for $12. It's like a 10-year oak aged Tempranillo with more body and jammy fruit, and the zing of a fresh Chianti.

Not bad for the price. Not much nose, but robust flavor that, unfortunately, tends to dissipate if drunk too quickly. Meant to be savored.

Awesome. Just exactly what you'd want in a Syrah!
