A very good Argentinian wine. Very good nose. Hints of plums and berries. Palate is mild, suitable for drinking on its own or with food. Had it with grilled beef ribs. Excellent match.

Well, frig. I was making my sideways face (:-/), trying to figure out what to say about this wine, when I stumbled upon my own review of this wine from several months ago. Apparently, I was supposed to stash this away for a long time in hopes that alchemy would happen to it. Oops. We drank the second bottle and now it's gone forever and we're not buying any more until we forget about it and buy more because we're suckers for dealz.

It tastes like prunes. There's no a lot going on, but it's fine.

This wine ruined my life for two days. Two pro reviews at >90pts for well under $20, so we bought two, figuring we were either wine-buying ninjas or total chumps.

I'm still not sure where the pendulum landed.

I popped the bottle Monday afternoon and made kind of sideways face ( :-/ ). I left it alone for a few hours and then tried again. It was a bit better, either due to decanting or self-talk. Or maybe both. I honestly don't know.

All this, and there were still two glasses left in the bottle. So we returned a day later, glasses in one hand and phones in the other, obsessively looking up more reviews. Again, I think it improved, but who's to say?

We're going to cellar the other bottle until I can deal with my emotions. 88.
