May 6th, 2017Amazing wine. Paired really well with basciola and paprika pork. Bought for $60, originally priced at $100. On its own, the smell was hot with high alcohols (fusely). With food, the alcohols were less perceptible. Full bodied, very tannic. Other than the alcohol, smell had licorice and cherry. Taste had strawberry, licorice, spicy, cherry. Would love to have again.

My favorite Amarone! Still very young and needs some time to reveal it’s deeper layers. OK now but I would hold these some additional years in the cellar

Personally: the king of Amarone! I adore Bussola! Do not let the 17,5% fool you, the fruit is still very present even though the alcohol is clearly noticeable. Liquid gold!

17/20 (92/100) Мощное и напористое амароне с ароматом джема из красных ягод, ванили и шоколада. Тельное и спиртуозное с умеренной кислотностью. Яркое и по своему симпатичное.

Long life ahead, of course, but with a long decant and at proper temperature this was approachable and very good. Deep and dark, hint of raisin, a crazy 17.5% alc which somehow does not come through.
