My very first Sauvignon Blanc. No really! The wine was very surprising, because it didn’t taste anything like I was expecting a Sav Balnc to taste. I was expecting a wine with predominately herbaceous flavours, and I got a mouthful of passionfruit, guava and a hint of mango. A tropical party in my mouth. Sure, there were some herbaceous notes, with some bell pepper and jalapeño showing through. The wine showed unexpected complexity, good balance, multiple layers of flavour and a nice crisp finish. An interesting and mind expanding experience.
