Usually I would pass on Petit Verdot but this actually was very very good.

Gotta agree with kempers description. I would add that it had a great nose of dark berry I had to keep sniffing. Quite a step up in quality from their basic offerings and a fair value at around $40. I'm getting pretty irratated with Paso wines at this quality level jacked up to the $65-$85 price point... You know who you are...

The deep ruby-red '11 Tobin James Petit Verdot 'James Gang Reserve' warmly perfumes the nose with dark cherry, oak, black pepper and mineral aromas. The spicy palate is then flooded with tart cherry, tobacco and cherry cough drop flavors. Straightforward finish with some tannin bite.

Very interesting. Don't often see a Petite Verdot as a standalone, but it was smooth and distinctive.

Very good, full body wine. First Petit Verdot wine I have ever tried. Will try more.
