It's Friday and I got to have my Cabernet fix. This week it's a nice Israeli one.

Pretty color of dark ruby with medium intensity and a wide brick /reddish rim.

Fruity nose of cherries, black currants, sweet strawberries, licorice, eucalyptus, vanilla, oak, barnyard, leather, bell pepper, earth, beef jerky, wet leaves, mint, graphite and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity, and smooth with long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, sweet cherries, strawberries, vanilla, licorice, light cloves, spices, wood, pencil lead, leather, earth, bell pepper, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with fine-grained tannins (after a couple of hours) and tangy raspberries.

The seven-year-old cabernet from Israel is still drinking nicely. Not fully balanced any longer, but has nice complexity. Earthy with lots of fruits at the same time. Feels like a blend of new and old world Cabernet. Interesting...

Good by itself or with food and needs a couple of hours in a decanter to open up properly.

I've had this vintage two years ago and it was much better. Probably peaked a year ago, so if you still have one, drink up.

14% alcohol by volume.

2015 vintage. From the Judean hills a well structured Cabernet, medium to full body. Brilliant color, nose of blue berries and hints of Earth. Good balance.
