Some cardboard and faint corkiness in the aromas, also some nice honeyed aromas and flavors, medium-long finish, taking a few points off for the musty cork notes, but can tell easily how good the underlying wine should be.

May 7th, 2025Clean, crisp, lovely Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fume, tonight this surpasses the 2017 (which is cork flawed), last year we had these two side-by-side and preferred the 2017.

Feb 15th, 2024Clean, faintly smoky and spicy, Loire Sauvignon Blanc, I like that it’s not overtly grassy, nice balance, should be even better in 3-4 years, consistently good vintage after vintage mutagen.
