Grapefruit with really a quite tolerable level of feral cat pee. Kind of closed, quite acidic and a little thin compared to the last time I tried this wine (forget which vintage, but loved it, so bought 3 bottles of ‘16). But there seems to be some complexity that’s either nascent or waning... or both...hard to tell. Hopefully an awkward phase in the bottle for a leaner vintage of this wine?... time might round the corners?

Dec 3rd, 2019Not incredibly complex as far as aroma, but the structure was compelling. Barrel aging softened sharp edges, but there was enough acid to make the overall experience enjoyable.
