This is a very nice Petite Sirah from California.

Full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black fruits with coffee notes, tobacco, wild flowers, spices, earth, leather, smoke, herbs and peppercorn.

Still young and would be better in the next 5 to 10 years.

Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$40.

Petite girl, petite-Er sirah? Note this wine has curves in all the right places. SF Wine Competition winner for best petite Sirah, I garnered this bottle from “helping” at the double gold tour. It deserves the hype. It’s just a perfectly balanced mouthful. Like the bite from a plateful of sides (the cranberry sauce! The potatoes! The stuffing and wtf some green veg!) that somehow combines it all. I only wish I’d brought this to Thanksgiving. It does have some elegant cranberry acid cutting into the cassis. A plush texture with an acid that cuts through it all but you don’t think about unless thinking “how’s the acid?” And then there is an undercurrent of cocoa. The tannins for a petite sirah are remarkably chill and knitted together. Like a gravy that has melded with your potatoes. God I’m into this wine. I’d never found a petite sirah before that held court with such elegant and tantalizing aplomb.

This is a fantastic petite Sara with a great balance of acidity and tannins, with lovely notes of cherry. Full bodied without being overpowering.

A pretty medium garnet color with cherry accents and a wide brim. Plenty of smoke on the nose initially with oak soon joining the party. Ripe cherries and stewed plums all day on this beauty. Plenty of eastern spices and dark chocolate compliment. This is a big Petite Sirah but not one that ever gets flabby or out of control because of the finesse apparent here.
The floral accents really show on the mid palate with hints of violets throughout. Rich and savory, this is ideal for this time of year when the season starts to turn. Petite Sirah usually doesn’t come so pretty. On the palate there’s plenty of black cherry and deep dark chocolate up front with plums and more smoke. Long finish featuring warm spice and black tea. Quite the delicious effort.

Ah, the Yorkville Highlands... more than just the fabled place where I totaled my car last fall. Those rocky hillsides produce some sensational juice and this wine is no exception. Inky and hedonistic AF, but pulls it off with elegance, tannic structure and enough vibrancy to elevate this wine far beyond guilty pleasure. And besides, what else would you want with a bacon cheese burger & onion rings?
Blueberry coulis and black pepper fade into violets and warm spice on the finish. Definitely opened this bottle too early but have no regrets. I look forward to seeing how bottle
#2 evolves over the next few years. All hail, Theodora, Queen of Petite Sirah!

Probably opened this a bit young. Didn't really care for it the first day. Opened up quite nicely on the second though. Decent wine to go with food.
