The Standish Wine Company
Single Vineyard Shiraz
I really like this
I reckon it'd be hard to say this is a Barossa Shiraz without doubting
The fruit is not jammy, it is actually rather vibrant and fresh
Lots of little details around and a long finish
Wine in balance, but it can age too quite a while
I'd put this in the bracket of Barossa that I truly enjoy🙏

A new entry into the Excellent category and one of the hot newer Barossa wineries. Getting some rave reviews in the overseas press. Langtons tasting in September 2018.

Sep 19th, 2018For me, Dan's wines were the wines of the day. We still have to go back and taste at Hentley Farm. We never got out of the cellar barrel tasting the 16's and some of the 17's just put into tank before having to leave for our next appointment. Dan is very old school in his wine making. He grew up on a farm and never went oenology school but became a chemical engineer. You would never know it after tasting his wines. Although, he was the Winemaker at Torbreck for 8 years prior to starting his own project in 99. They are big, rich and lush and hard not to drink when there this fresh. Stunning across the palate. If you've said, ahhh Shiraz is just too...whatever. Don't say again until after you try Dan's wines. They'll hold there own with the best of anything anywhere. Mixed wild berries, every blue fruit with just the right amount of spice. Rich, bold and everything you want out of a great bottle of wine.
