9.2-nice bouquet, medium body and finish, easy to drink; great value on sale at 8.49, plus 10% off when buying six or more; little better than Beringer Founder's Estate.

Dark purple in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with plums, cherries, licorice, oak, mint, earth, green herbs, vegetables, green pepper, tobacco leaf, alcohol, burnt rubber and black pepper.

Medium bodied and spicy with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, currants, oak, earth, leather, green pepper, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, bitter vegetables and peppercorn.

Spicy finish with soft round tannins

This is an average red wine from California. Not fully balanced and simple.

Probably not going to last too long anymore, so drink it sooner than later. Enjoyable by itself, but better with food.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Bright ruby in color with light intensity and a brick rim.

Fruity nose of plums, cherries, oak, licorice, cloves, alcohol, spices, chocolates, mocha, dark coffee, cola and peppercorn.

Medium-bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with sweet cherries, plums, blackberries, black currants, wood, vanilla, alcohol, spices, green vegetables, chocolates, tobacco, cola, herbs and black pepper.

Short finish with green, bitter tannins.

An average red wine, light and balanced. Simple and enjoyable with food.

This California Merlot needs an hour to open up and show some tannins. Very hot at the back of the throat which didn't sit well with me.

One more year in the bottle might help with the heat and tannins.
