A beautiful ready to drink 2012. Needs a good decant but oh so awesome. Takes the best of Oakville and puts it in one bottle

Jul 21st, 2015SMOOTH. This wine is classic Oakville and I guess it should be given that it has a lot of stellar wines included in the Cuvee. This wine has been open for two hours, and needs to really open for another 2-3 hours before I think it will be firing right like it should. After de-waxing and popping the cork, this wine was showing a lot of heated black notes. A little disjointed, but really started to sing after an hour. The blackberry and licorice, black pepper and tobacco notes are very ample. Smooth transition to the middle and finish. Finishes just so damn smooth. Softened tannin, more fruit to the finish actually and just seems like a toastier note on the finish. This wine was incredible.

This is what an empty $900 magnum of Oakville Cab looks like! Very nice stuff - lucky to get a chance to experience it at a recent tasting! Now if only I had a FULL bottle....
