Another gem from the California Lost and Found file. My friends at Meeker Vineyards recently stumbled upon 100 cases of this 2001 bottling of Mendocino Carignan in their cellars. When they offered me samples I happily accepted. Drinking very well- great purity, definition and balance. Bright red fruits, dried flowers, mint,
eucalyptus, tobacco- characteristics that I’ve noted in some of their older wines. Skillful cork removal and decanting required, tools not included.

My second bottle of carignan in a week (don’t know the last time I even had a glass..). This has serious age (2001) and is a great value at ~$50
