I was disappointed when I first opened this a couple of years ago. Fast forward to now and it's a different wine. Lovely bouquet of vanilla and sandalwood, with fruit from start to finish on the palate. Vibrant and enjoyable. I guess RP was right all along.

Apr 15th, 2017With all the talk tonight on DL from @"Odedi" and @Jody Scharf, I thought it might be fun to bring out this cuvée.
Intensely dark in the glass, the nose is somewhat closed. On the palate, the tannins dominate and this is the opposite of a "fruit forward" wine. There are notes of currant and underripe raspberry.
I think, given the tannins, this is a wine for the long term. I will hold off for a while with the rest i have.

Jun 17th, 2016I didn't decant this long enough. Great body, smooth, long finish. No bouquet initially, but started to develop a nice one right as the bottle was being finished.
