Inky purple with wide violet edges. Big, big nose of blueberries, rosemary, and some tremendous bacon grease. The palate consists of earthy components with a bunch of New World acidity. The fruit shows on the first day, mainly with boysenberry and plums. The second day shines with old leather, dried figs, grass, and roasted coffee. All kinds of delicious acidity to go along with the smooth tannins. Equal parts interesting and pleasant.

2007 Magnum. Rosemary, dark cherry, mint and leather on the nose. Savory umami, teriyaki and dark cherry, with pleasant spice on the palate. Walla Walla wines always give this umami flavor that is very apparent here.
