Terre del Bruno, diddi Bonechi, chianti, riserva poggio al falchi 2019
Second wine of my birthday blind tasting organised by my wife and daughter.
I went completely off track with this one and called it both blinded and without a blind a Pinot Noir. The color is light, the nose is cherry, hay and a tiny bit of menthol/eucalyptus which tricked me into thinking it could be a Pinot from Australia or New Zealand 🤔.
That menthol thing could even be a bit of licorice. The palate is thin, acid driven, with a nice red fruit note shining through but very little matter and width and a bit of tannins but nothing too serious when compared to my Sangiovese standards... The finish is fruit, that light tannic layer and that goes on for a while. It's very thin and acid driven for a chianti. No way I could place it blind, really 🤷🏻♂️
