Dark dense fruit and leather on the nose. Approachable on opening but opened up with slow ox in about 2 hours. Seems more traditional with chewy tannins throughout but they complimented the dark cherry, leather, spice, slight mineral, and undergrowth on the palate - instead the tannins exploded pleasantly with a long dry finish. This is a slow sipping Barolo.
