Beautiful color of brick /ruby with a wide brick orange rim.
Nice nose of plums, cherries, wood, licorice, currants, earth, light vanilla, tobacco, vegetables, wet leaves, black olives, smoke, green pepper, peppercorn, leather and espresso.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, smoke, vegetables, vanilla, earth, licorice, cloves, graphite, peppercorn and spices.
Medium finish with medium tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice Italian Primitivo. Balanced with a nice mouthfeel and enjoyable complexity. Good by itself and better with food. I had it a year ago and it is drinking nicely now.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show complexity.
