Highly acidic, high in tannins, a touch boozy. Very bitter and more savory than fruity. Pepper dominates the flavor, and then tart red fruit in the long finish.
Overall, a nice wine. I'm never much of a fan of bitterness, so less to my liking, but I still appreciate what it is doing. Would drink with a nice hearty meal.

2018: Nice surprise: Tastes like a more mature Sangiovese, with sour cherry and some leather and earthy tertiary flavors adding some real complexity. Really interesting for the price point, if not the most powerful style. $25 at Total.
