Sulphidic notes diminishing. A great combination of citrus and stone fruit plus some grilled nuts in the aromatics. The palate shows those same fruit characteristics with M minus acid and M plus palate intensity. A good Chardonnay from Hawkes Bay, better known for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. This is good but I prefer their Reds. Bought at the winery in January 2016 where we were lucky to meet the owner John Buck.

A pretty good Chardonnay for the Hawkes Bay which specialises mainly in Cabernet and Syrah. Everything in balance at 8 years of age. A lighter weight palate which is more savoury than fruit driven. A bronze medal from me - an ok Chardonnay but nothing to write home about. From New Zealand’s oldest winery.

Funky leesy sulphidic Notes. On the palate flavours of Pineapple Juice with a Saline note. Profound intensity Medium plus acid with a good future - up to 2025. Great match with Sheeps cheese as an aperitif.

20160714 paired with baked portabella mushroom, fig with mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese Roman lettuce salad.

Color : straw yellow
Nose : buttery & nutty
Taste : acid backbone at 1st, creamy nutty but finish quick with mild acid 1st, then nutty, buttery mild acid and last longer, value for money.

2007
Tasting note: Ripe, full bodied Chardonnay with nice core acidity that is reminiscent of Kistler in Sonoma! Very beautiful oak integration with nutty, toasty character and complex flavours in the middle and finish. They have been making this wine since 1994. Tasted in: Central Otago, New Zealand. Maturity: Drink. (27-Jan-2011) Jeannie Cho Lee

2009
Tasting note: Full bodied, buttery, ripe Chardonnay with firm acid backbone and structure. There is substantial weight and the fruit is just about tropical fruits - there are mixed nuts, toasty notes. Young, concentrated white with very long length. 2009 was a warmer season than 2007 and 2005 so flavours are riper and more generous. Tasted in: Central Otago, New Zealand. Maturity: Drink. Персик, лимонная цедра, помело, тост, ваниль, масло. Отлично дозированный дуб, хороший образец с потенциалом.

Ripe apple and marshmallow toast. Tight citrus and green apple. Acidic and a bit reductive, but good length.
