Great potential. Still to develop the trademark honeysuckle notes of mature Marsanne. The name is derived from the age of these Marsanne vines - amongst the oldest in the world. Very similar to Semillon in flavour profile needing at least 10 years for it to blossom. Recent tastings included a 2005 which was just hitting its straps at 11 years.

Full of intrigue and unexpected twists. Australian Riesling qualities on the nose. An very different representation of the variety. Beautiful diesel but on the palate, dancing lemon zest and apricots. Then it was gone . . .

Wow a brand new discovery for me. Australian Marsanne with age. Acidy, crisp, lemon, lime , grapefruit, fresh and still young.
