Deep purple in color; blackberries, plums, and black pepper on the nose; medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins; tastes like sour cherries, dried herbs, and slate with a long finish. Not as bold as other shiraz I've had, but it's crisp and fresh. I think I understand why people say South African wines are old world style. This wine feels old world to me. Structured and elegant, light on the fruit.
