Pulled this after visiting Alexander Valley today and tasting at Skipstone (Highly recommended!) Stonestreet’s 1996 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows damp earth, tomato leaf, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and charcoal, with a faded edge of black cherry and dried currant. While it’s certainly on its last leg, it’s a sturdy leg that’s not giving in anytime soon.

Jun 13th, 2018This is the type of Cabernet I enjoy drinking. Enticing nose of spice. Fairly fruit forward. Nice notes of blackberry. Softish tannins and moderate finish. For the price, very good QPR. Given that this is a 2011, I'm excited to try the 12 and 13.

Jul 17th, 2016Some nice old cab notes. Tobacco, leather and stewed fruits. Nice nose at open. Started going south after a couple hours. Probably ok to hold or drink if cellared properly since release. The one I had was upright in a sketchy wine shop.
