Paso Robles Syrah
Distinctively blackish-red, nothing purple here. Bone dry. Plum, grilled beef, worn leather, dried earth, and black pepper. Some heat, but overall manages the 15% abv quite well. Suggestive of old world style Southern Rhone.

Oct 1st, 2015I would suggest decanting this wine for about an hour before serving. Tastes of leathery tannins and black fruit with a hint of black pepper marry well with hearty steaks and pastas.

Mar 23rd, 2014While not my favorite Paso Robles Syrah blend (thank you Mr. James Berry), this brilliant Chilean winemaker created a solidly balanced red. The initial fruit is explosive, but the structure does not disappoint. Be careful, this is not your 14% alcohol variety ... The 2nd glass can pack a punch. Wine Spectator has the 2007 rated 90+. A good price is under $40. Cheers!
