Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
Winemakers Series Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Fruits are closed down at this stage. Blackberries, black cherries, touch of blueberries. Tannins are still still big. Coffee grounds, black tea, dark dry minerals & dark earth, tough leather, black olive, vanilla, sprinkle of herbs and a long dry finish. This one is going to need a few years to show itself. 9.0 with the potential for more in 5 years.

Aug 14th, 2016A little thin at first but opened up well. Mostly black cherries, plum, currants. Not heavy on the tannins. Enjoyed with filet.

Oct 16th, 2022Soda Canyon vineyard in Atlas Peak AVA. Very bold and intense with wild sage and dark berries. Deep ruby color, full body and big tannins. More earthy and herbaceous than fruity. Crushed rocks, betel leaves and undertone of dried black fruits. It did develop overtime and get more complexed the longer it breathed.

Aug 22nd, 2018Lots of dark cherry on the nose but a little short on the finish. Not as balanced as some of the other offerings from Stag’s Leap.
