Ten years aging in my cellar at 52 degrees. Stags’ Leap 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Decanting for one hour. This was recommended by the winery when I purchased it. Today is the day. Its now 10 years old. It is absolutely stunning! The cork was perfectly preserved with a minimal saturation level. The bouquet is a beautiful African violet and black licorice explosion in the nose. The initial palate delivers a robust dark berry and dark currant fruit. The mid pallet slides in with a velvety and Earthy quality. Lots of silk and butter. Then comes the rich mineral infused soil and Graphite middle. There is a bit of chocolate in the pallet. The finish is so smooth you might never stop sliding until you pull yourself another glass. The tannins are so soft and supple. it is moderately dry leaving you thirsty for more. Perfect Cab!
