A fun & informative morning with Winemaker Marcus Notaro of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Fruits are ripe and creamed. Core is blackberries, blueberries, black cherries, dark raspberries, dried florals, liquid violets, dark dry earth, swede leather, faint baking spices, touch of anise, soft spice, underbrush and a long elegant round creamed fruit finish. Acidity is spot on.

The lighter side of the volcanic soil in the S.L.V vineyard. Ripe berries with perfumed and floral notes, a bit of baking spices and cedar as well. Super silky and smooth tannins. It’s a sipping wine!

Stag slv block 1 - 2012- this is less tannic than the above slv but it doesn't have the big bold body that I like. More fruit 8.9. Second taste 9.0 this is my favorite at the end
