Still holding up though a bit of the fruit has fallen over the years it is still a great example of Sangiovese in CA done right. Nice acid and enough tannin to hold up to a smoked leg of lamb for Easter. Smelled like a lovely aged Chianti. Brick/wet stone on the nose intermixed with a bit of iodine. Very pleased

More muscular, hitting the warm/savory spice notes of licorice, cloves, sasparilla, and leather. Fruit is ripe and integrated, oak adds layer of complexity, sweeter core to the wine. Reminded me a more "modern" Brunello without the intense oak tannin profile.

More acid driven, brighter, flirting with savory meatiness and punchier black cherry fruit. Exhibits more lift and energy on palate, cool subtle herbs, more spice. Despite the ABV this was quite fresh, displaying a round mid-palate from the alcoholic richness. I loved how it stood up to food.

2006 drinking lovely this Father's Day. Smoky smooth, bright berry nose hits of leather and earth almost coffee. Long finish, cherries and dirt in a good way. Still rich and a bit to chew on. Could easily go another 5-10 years

Damn, I'd been holding on to this one since it arrived years ago. So luxurious, such a smooth balanced palate. Nice tannin but great fruit and enough acid to hold it all together. Aromatics of leather dried lavender maybe Heather and violets. Rich and full palate, long lingering finish so delicious sad this was the last 05 I had in the cellar but a great one to celebrate my birthday
