See previous notes. Meaty aromas together with blueberry, red currant and raspberry - a hint of bay leaf. A wonderful wine from old vine Mataro (Mourvèdre). Medium to full bodied with stacks of savoury flavour. Sadly my last one. I should seek out more recent vintages.

See previous notes from 2018 and 2020 which still apply. From 100% old vine Mataro from the Barossa valley. Dried plum with a tarry note - a touch of nutmeg and dried meat. Soft resolved tannins. A lovely savoury wine - a great food wine.

Consistent notes from my last note in April 2018 although I note with age the youthful raspberry notes transform into more dried plum, earthy and meaty descriptors - the latter a bit like Biltong. Rich and savoury at the same time. 100% old vine Mataro from a single site in the Barossa.

100% old vine Mataro from a single site in the Barossa Valley. Meaty and savoury with some plummy earthy notes. Same on the medium to full bodied palate with a hint of Liquorice. A good balance of fruit and savoury influences with the savoury winning out. Finishes with fine grained slightly tarry tannins. Love Wine like this.

Raspberry and savoury earth notes. On the medium + bodied palate rich mouthfilling lush raspberry flavours from old vine Barossa Mataro (Mourvèdre). Delicious if you like the style.

A unique wine. Only 33 cases made according to the back label. I was lucky to get 5 from Rathdowne Cellars @ $45 each This is the last. Made from 100+ year old Mataro (Mouvedre) vines in a single vineyard. Intense raspberry nose and on a medium weight savoury palate. Very enjoyable. 18.
