Deep ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, cola, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body, with nice legs and medium acidity.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, chocolates, cinnamon, tobacco, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm, round tannins and spices.
A great Petite Sirah from Napa Valley, California. This 8 year old, is now balanced and smooth with a nice mouthfeel. Complex, interesting and enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with a 16 ounce filled mignon.
Needs 2 hours to open up.
13.9% alcohol by volume.

Jul 6th, 2015Not sure I'd like it by itself (has a caramel element to it). But it paired well with a filet.
