Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, campfire smoke, coffee, cloves, spice box, pine, bourbon and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Fruity on the palate with currants, black plums, wood, licorice, spices, dark roasted coffee and tobacco.
Medium finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
A nice everyday red wine from the Mondavi house. Simple and balanced, with nice acidity at the ending. Nice soft, smooth mouthfeel, but a little watery. Nothing special, but not offensive either.
Good for parties, or as a sipping wine by the porch. A Good food wine too. I Paired it with fillet minon and roasted zucchini.
