Nose: spicy, fire-pit, raspberry, mulberry, tree bark, a fruitiness comes through over time. Taste: astringent tannins, spice, pepper. Fire and earth.

Fruit was present but not over bearing, very balanced wine. Leather, tobacco and dried cherries on the palate with a little spice at the end. Nice mouthfeel. Finish could have been a little longer.

Wonderful. Little spice. Has weight. Not a cherry pie wine.

Soter is the best US pinot. Had the 2008 and 2009 at dinner. 08 has more musty earthy tones. Beautifully balanced. Truly great. 09 is a little brighter and little more acidic but with time open it darkened and integrated more. More floral v earthy with a sense of licorice. Also a wonderful wine but needs to air a bit more or age

big disappointment. have liked em in the past. on day one this was tight but weird (bitter cherry), in day two the fruit was gone and it was unusually hot on the palate.
