Needs 20 minutes of airtime to come to its own.
Good by itself as a sipping wine. Tangy and interesting.

Vanilla, cream cheese, acacia, white flowers, sweet baking spices, med+ acidity, very broad and textured, 14.5% abv.
100% new French oak and frequent lees stirring (twice a day).
Visited on Sep 3rd 2022 in the morning, greeted by the responsible vineyard guard dog š¶ who turned into the happiest sloppy doggo during our tasting appointment. Charlie Smith just finished picking the estate Cab Sauv fruit that morning started at 6am. And we witnessed fruits coming in and the destemmer churning and read through reflectometer that the Brix sits at 24.5.
Charlie Smith is a such a personality but thatās a story for another time :)

This was the first wine I had when I tasted at the winery and I was having such a good time talking with Charlie that I was probably not paying very good attention to the wine. Turns out this is terrific.
