Cool little mini vertical (2004-2006) from @David L and @Shawn R and all were performing exceptionally. These are always such dependably sultry and delicious wines with an unmistakable chocolate/dark fruit profile. Stuart Sloan sold this winery to the Pan family several years back for almost 50 million and I’m not sure they take visitors from their mailing mist. It could be an extra fun tasting if they bring wines from their other estate—Chateau Bon Pasteur.

04, 05, 06 Sloan- All quite different. Not a bad way to kick off the night.

Balance, power and finesse. I don't think this approaches the '01, '05 or '07 for me but it is an exceptionally well made wine. A rich texturally sexy wine reminiscent of Harlan. This only lacked some mid palate softness and the finish was slightly hot but nothing air wouldn't have remedied had it not been gurgled down so quickly. The puppy is named Sloan btw....met him today in an interesting coincidental encounter and shared the bottle with his owner. Least I could do. I love puppies 😉🍷🐶👩🏼

At the edge of my ripeness tolerance, but not crossing it, and without too much oak to push it over the edge.

Big. Scratch that, Enormous. Dark plum, cassis, licorice, undertones of smoke and honey. It’s almost as if they stuffed all the weight in the bottle - very unique for Napa. This would complement a Punch Cigar, Venison, etc. be prepared for a nose bigger than an elephant but it is worth the experience.

Had on Mother's Day. Dad was given these as a gift. A bold dark wine. Cocoa, coffee toffee all that jazz. Certainly this is in a league of its own and for that reason I don't often have wines like this. What a ridiculous price point but it's good.
