Orange color, excellent clarity. Label admits wine grapes and potassium metabisulfite are ingredients, but no oranges. (Yes, it’s the color due to high skin contact). Aroma is mostly from the Chenin Blanc, Malvasia and Pinot Gris (32%/14%/12%) with floral, orchard fruit and yes, barnyard notes (not a deal breaker for me). Good acidity but not bone dry. Fruity with a little kick from a wee hint of residual sugar. The varietal mix gives it real character. Some skin astringency on the finish but far from obnoxious. If you can get past the barnyard note, this is a fine wine to sip with real value. Not perfect but not flawed either.
