@AddendumWinebyFess is a new wine project by Santa Barbara winery Fess Parker specializing in ultra-premium, small-lot wines from select Napa Valley sites. This bottling represents 1 of 4; all from the 2014 vintage; all 100% Cab, save for one Cab/Syrah blend from Atlas Peak. The Addendum 2014 from Rutherford is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is deep, concentrated, and richly fruited, with excellent acid/tannin balance. There are leading flavors of black plum, currant, and spice cake, followed by dark cocoa and mocha notes. A good dose of oak (matured 28 months in 100% new French oak barrels) was thrown at this wine but the ripe, concentrated fruit handles it superbly well. This Cab is built to age but very enjoyable now. I recommend decanting for about one hour.
