Oregon's tribute to ancient Monks. Blackberry, creamy raspberry, blueberry with an accent on structured Welches grapes. Suburb acidity and balance. Perfect with 5-7 years in the bottle.

If you could mix blackberry, blueberry, ollieberry, unripe rhubarb, dark cherry & raspberry liquor, dark chocolate and just a hint of smokey bramble this where the wine is at this stage. 5-7 years in the bottle seems to where the sweet spot is without graduating into date, fig and prune. Not that that stag is bad but it's just the other side of the bell curve. This is a great example of what the right producer in an Oregon climate can produce! Great stuff with BBQ or just about any grill meat.

100+ year old vines (the Pines Vineyard), oldest in the northwest. Great stuff. Very concentrated and doing well with a few years in bottle.

Planted 1902. No sign of senility. In fact - bright, concentrated, assertive and lovable.

Exquisite! Still all there - fresh, opulent black fruits and spice the nose, then - ahhhh. Great balance, complexity, soft mouth-feel - cranberry, blackberry, black raspberry, plum, damp soil, a passing wave of white pepper then the fruits continue on its lingering finish. Wow. How many of these are left?

Sineann old vine Zinfandel, 2016. This is Columbia Valley Oregon. Zinfandel is a pretty difficult wine to make but these guys have it down!!!!!!! This is perhaps the best Zinn I’ve tasted in a long time. You can actually taste the pepper in the spice right from the get go. You can also taste the flavor of the Zinfandel grape as well right on the front of the pallet. It’s almost sweet but it’s nowhere near sugar sweet. There’s blueberry boysenberry blackberry even some raspberry in there. Loads of black pepper white pepper cigarbox graphite. The finish gives my palate a wonderful tingle. And I will definitely buy a lot more of this while it’s this good!!!! You should too!

They have set bar so high, they can’t get it perfect every time on zins. But they can get it right. This vintage has good fruit flavors, with mild spices and a medium finish. A good zin to drink.
