Old Vine Grenache
McLaren Vale, Fleurieu, South Australia, Australia
Loads of dried shrooms and jerky on the nose. Palate has some of that trademark candied red berry fruit but is pretty well strained.

Moderate garnet core fading to an amber colored rim. Prominent earth notes on the nose accompanied by strawberry/raspberry jam, and cinnamon. Medium bodied and fruity on the palate with notes of red licorice, medium acidity, 14% alcohol, and lightly tannic, spicy finish . A Peter Weygandt selection sourced from low yielding old wines.

Jun 11th, 2017For a very reasonable price, this held up nicely with another grenache twice the price!
