The Zellerbach was more ready. This was still quite young.

Bordeaux in a glass. Stewed plum, charcoal, and oiled leather aromatics. More fruit on the palate then expected...lots of sediment (of course) with herbal seasoning on the finish. Structure is still there, though fading.

Pretty good shape. Mature flavors of stewed fruit, and leather.

Although palatable, not very balanced. Needs some more time on the shelf. Flavors need to develop more.

Nice spice and oak notes. Very good fruit. Plummy. Smooth with good acid and subdued tannins. This is a tremendous QPR value.

On the dry side and not very robust for a cab. A little light. $13 at Costco. 2012.

Not a good balance. Not horrible. But not worth the price.

Opened up nicely with some breathing. Strong red fruit up front, spices/pepper notes. Nice lower end cab.
