Plain and unremarkable label and name. 14.3% ABV, oh my! Smells a bit more like flowers and gunpowder (teas and the actual) than many Zins. Not ‘fruit bombed’ on the nose. Flavors are pretty hot with a brandy and liquor edge to go with the bramble fruits and wild strawberries. It’s got a slight savory bite. Pretty smooth and silky overall. This is a silver example of DCV Zin, but not quite dynamic or striking to take the gold in this event though.
