"Odedi"

Price $125.

This time, my Friday’s Cabernet fix is something special…

Dark ruby in color and cloudy, with a wide brick /orange rim.

Complex nose of blueberries, tart cherries, licorice, oak, earth, forest floor, green vegetables, graphite, diet cola, black pepper, spices, wet rocks, bitter herbs, bell pepper and tobacco.

Medium plus in body with high acidity, soft, velvety and elegant.

Dry and tart on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, sour cherries, earth, vegetables, vinaigrette, tobacco, bitter herbs, bell pepper, forest floor, green vegetables and graphite.

Medium finish with no tannins and tart raspberries.

This 29 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley, is earthy with very little fruit left. Tasty and interesting, but unbalanced and better with food.

Extremely complex with layers of flavors both on the nose and palate.

This is more for the experience than the taste. Definitely over the hill by now.

I decanted it for 90 minutes, it was not drinkable right out of the bottle.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and hard cheeses.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

@ 25 years I expected tired, faded & dried out, instead I was pleasantly surprised by the the cedar aromas with plum, earth and dried red fruit flavors.
