Loved this. Great mid-palate for Sangio. Layered cherry fruit, sweet spices, leather, anise. Juicy and rich without being over bearing.

A bit too concentrated for myself. Too much dark fruit and vanilla but then again it is Calistoga so fruit flavors and aromas could come from terroir. I think I prefer the lighter versions if Sangiovese.

Full, developed, tapering finish. Excellent when pair with a hearty pasta ragout and spicy arugulla.

I'm partial to this winery, as Peter Heitz is a friend and I helped design the label, but this vintage is probably better now than it was after first bottled. Above & beyond any Sangio. that I've ever had.
