Loved this. Great mid-palate for Sangio. Layered cherry fruit, sweet spices, leather, anise. Juicy and rich without being over bearing.

Oct 22nd, 2017A bit too concentrated for myself. Too much dark fruit and vanilla but then again it is Calistoga so fruit flavors and aromas could come from terroir. I think I prefer the lighter versions if Sangiovese.

Feb 4th, 2018It could be the fantastic bolognese or the ambience but this wine is tasting much nicer than the others reviews. I recommend.

Oct 28th, 2016Blood red purple, aromatic ripe black cherry and raisin
Full, developed, tapering finish. Excellent when pair with a hearty pasta ragout and spicy arugulla.

Jul 7th, 2015I'm partial to this winery, as Peter Heitz is a friend and I helped design the label, but this vintage is probably better now than it was after first bottled. Above & beyond any Sangio. that I've ever had.

Feb 7th, 2015Tasting notes from GenuWine. The fruit for this wine is sourced exclusively from the Shypoke estate block of Sangiovese in Napa valley. The wine leads with perfumed aromas of strawberry, red cherries and toasted vanilla. Mouthwatering flavored of blood orange, raspberry and crushed strawberries. Lingering finish balanced with beautiful acidity.
