It’s time for a great Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Dark ruby in color with a purplish tint and a reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, cedar, figs, raisins, vanilla, spices, espresso, pencil lead, herbs and black pepper. A beautiful nose.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with plums, sweet cherries, oak, spices, licorice, vanilla, earth, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Merlot from Israel. Very tasty already, but still very young.
Tangy and big. Fruit forward, spicy and interesting. Showing nice complexity and nicely balanced.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime. Showing big tannins once it opens up.
Delicious by itself or with food and will age nicely in the next 10 years.
100% Merlot grapes were aged for 18 months in mostly new French oak barrels. Kosher and not Mevushal.
15.5% alcohol by volume.

Strong nose of cooked plums, black currants, light violets, dark chocolates, spices, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, tobacco leaf, black coffee and black pepper.
Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate and fruity with black plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, currants, tobacco, licorice, light earth, coffee, herbs and peppercorn.
Spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Merlot from Israel. Fruit forward and rich. Well balanced with nice complexity, tangy and interesting.
This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now. Good right out of the bottle and better with air time. After 90 minutes, the complexity comes in, and it is showing a really beautiful nose after 3 hours of airtime.
Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of cheeses, vegetables and dried fruits.
